The Toastmasters Podcast is like a radio talk show featuring interviews with Toastmasters usually featured in the Toastmaster magazine. The purpose of the podcast is to amplify the magazine - to dig deeper or to put a voice to a face or written wordBut unlike a radio show, a podcast is on the Internet, and available, for free, to anyone in the world with an Internet connection, and a connected device capable of playing audio. 250+ episodes are at ToastmastersPodcast.comThe Toastmasters Podcast is co-produced by Toastmasters International and Archieboy Holdings, LLC, for our global audience of Toastmasters and those interested in public speaking and leadership.
On Saturday August 20, 2016, Darren Tay Wen Jie of Singapore, District 80, became the 2016 World Champion of Public Speaking. His contest speech, "Outsmart; Outlast," was delivered to an audience of more than 2,000 people from around the world during the finals of the Toastmasters International Speech Contest in Washington, D.C.
Darren shares with Greg and Ryan his journey from joining Toastmasters to improve his poor conversational skills, to competing in speech contests, and eventually winning the World Championship. Also listen to advice from another World Champion about—of all things, Darren's underwear—contributed to his success.
